Recent Scientific Studies Confirmed These 8 Ways To Lose Weight

_assets_1_asset_DIST_ELE_WEIGHTLOSS_DIST_ELE_WEIGHTLOSSWeight loss is big business. Keeping the weight off can be even bigger business. Weight loss companies, doctors and scientists are always researching to learn new ways to lose weight and keep it off.

Recent scientific studies have confirmed these 8 ways to lose weight and keep it off.

  1. High protein diets increase metabolism and the feeling of being full.
  2. A combination of soy and milk proteins increases the ability to develop more muscle, increase weight loss and athletic performance.
  3. Adequate fiber intake increases weight loss.
  4. Healthy intestinal hormones act as an appetite suppressor.
  5. Omega-3’s from screened healthy fish oil supplements help retain muscle especially as you age.
  6. Eating largest meal prior to 3 pm aids in controlling weight.
  7. A low glycemic response diet assists in energy expenditure both during rest and during daily activities.
  8. Smaller bites increase the feeling of satisfaction with less food.smallBites2013-08-20_1015

How can you use this information in your daily diet?  Many people stay away from soy because of GMO or they believe too much soy can get your hormones all out of balance. Lactose intolerance has caused many people to avoid milk and milk products.

A very popular trend today is protein drinks and/or smoothies as a healthy meal substitute. I personally have had a protein drink once a day for years. It makes a quick easy healthy meal especially for anyone with a busy schedule. Smoothies on the other hand can be quite involved and can easily be a source of too much sugar and not enough protein.

My recommendation is our delicious NeoLife Shake for peace of mind and weight management. Children and adults both love it as it gives a healthy boost to their daily nutrients. It is available in two delicious flavors: Creamy Vanilla and Berries n’ Cream.

Pat has been married to the same man for 52 years, is the mother of 3 adult children, and grandma to 8 grandchildren.  Growing up in the country gave her a head start to living a healthy lifestyle.  This grandma became interested in nutrition as a mother and for the past 27 plus years she has specialized in teaching others the importance of good nutrition.  Challenges along the road have been many; her father overcoming congestive heart failure with nutrition, her husband's battle with GERD and avoiding a major heart attack, her daughter's battle with a brain tumor, her grandson beating Hodgkin's Lymphoma, her mother's stage 4 lung cancer, her mom-n-law's dementia, and others.  Her goal is to share with others the things she has learned and is still learning about having the BEST REAL HEALTH possible.

Staying on track with healthy food always rewards you. I love my green smoothies for that.

Hi Catherine,

What do you put in your green smoothies to ensure you are getting adequate protein? My 17 year old grandson who is in remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma makes smoothies just about every day. He’s a real champ.. such a sweet caring young man.

Stay in great health!

Thanks for sharing the info on weight loss and the shakes.  It is so important to eat healthy and exercise. I feel the older we get, the more of a challenge it becomes.  So far, so good. 🙂

Hi Alexandra,

You are right about most people. The older we get the more of a challenge it becomes to manage our weight. The info I offered in this article certainly will help no matter what your age.

You’re doing great.. keep it up. Pat

Pat, one thing I found interesting in your list of 8 ways to lose weight and keep it off:  so many can be integrated into our lives without having to buy or prepare special foods.  (Not that the diet food industry would be too thrilled to see that.  But they need not worry; most have bought into their hype!)  😉  Thanks for sharing such solid information, as always …

Hi Sharon,

Yes, by all means you can incorporate these 8 ways of weight management without having to buy or prepare special foods. I have been teaching for years about how important the right balance of protein is to staying healthy. Of course, I do market supplements (they are the way I make a living). The supplements I market just make it easier to consume the right nutrients but it can definitely be done by eating whole, unprocessed foods. Unfortunately most people’s lives are so crazy buzy they do need an easier way. That is the reason I suggest the delcious NeoLife Shakes as well as other supplements. They work for me.

You take care of yourself and thanks for visiting once again. Pat

Another healthy post! Eating in moderation can do wonders to achieve weight loss. Do you agree?

8 Pat Moon September 1, 2013 at 10:31 am

Hi Lorii,

Yes, I totally agree that eating in moderation can do wonders to achieve weight loss. The challenge is to be sure to get adequate protein and other nutrients in balance so as to have a healthy metabolism.

Take care of your health, Pat

Interesting to read that smaller bites lead to you feeling fuller as I am guilty of eating too much too quickly! So that is definately something for me to take on board as I try to keep my weight in check!

Hi Carolyn,

Yes, smaller bites and eating slowly, chewing thoroughly is a very good habit to establish whether you are trying to lose weight or not. It helps you absorb more nutrients and is better for your digestive system.

Good luck with maintaining your weight, Pat

Excellent tips, Pat. I'll just add one more – drink lots of water! When the body is reducing weight, the water is needed to help release the toxins that might get built up in the body and hamper weight loss. This is an Ayurvedic concept which works in almost any diet. I remember as a child, my parents had bought the Dr Stilman diet book (which was a best seller) and while it dealt with weight loss for clinically obese who needed to shed pounds quickly, he endorsed drinking water. Another Ayurvedic method using water which has also been recommended by Dr Deepak Chopra is to sip warm water a couple of times a day. This helps to cut the fat as well as assist the body to expel toxins. Thanks for the lovely tips again, Pat.

Hi Vatsala,

Yes, by all means, water is of utmost importance in weight management as well as staying healthy in general. I appreciate you pointing that out for my readers. The 8 tips I mentioned are not the only things to keep in mind when losing weight but have recently been verified through scientific studies. Getting rid of toxins is very critical to good health and healthy weight loss.

Thanks for visiting my article. Pat

These are great tips for a good nutrition, Pat! I personally eat god food in moderation, drink a lot of water during the day, and walk as much as I can. It's been helping me keep the "perfect" health for years now!
